My Story

Ruth Writer About Me.jpg

I’ve always written—secretly filled endless notebooks with lines of stories, poems, ideas, thoughts, and memories.

One fine day in 2008, I met the aspiring Canadian painter Zarum. He loved what I wrote about his art even more than I loved his paintings, and he collected my writings. A year later, everything appeared as a published catalog.

"Wow", I thought, "People actually read what I write?"

It's funny remembering this now.

Filled with courage, I started writing my first personal blog in 2010 and gained 100 followers with only six posts. But my writing lacked purpose. What message did I have for my readers? My search for meaning led me to participate in a historical book about synagogues destroyed during 'Kristallnacht'.

It was a fulfilling project for a German-born Jew like me!

By now, I was working a full-time marketing job.

This provided plenty of writing opportunities. When I received excellent responses to my email campaigns, I volunteered to revive a ‘dead’ company blog. And voila! With consistent, engaging content, the blog suddenly generated traffic and became an effective marketing tool.

That’s it; I was a marketing writer!

That was over a decade ago.

Since then, my content boosted the rankings of Similarweb’s Research Intelligence Blog. I’ve helped startups like Webz.io (web intelligence), Anodot (data analytics), Juganu (smart city tech), HourOne (AI video platform) reach and engage the right audience, and established companies like Commit launch new products with clear messaging.

I worked with digital marketing agency daze, marketing automation agency SRPro, and the specialty marketing agency EyeCarePro

Also on my client’s list: monday.com, Fiverr, and Panaya

In 2025, I developed and executed a content strategy for the Onchain Foundation’s research division. I lead a content marketing team of several writers, a UX designer, a full-stack developer, a social media manager, and a PR professional. What a creative team! We built a website, landing pages, resource hub (data dashboards, reports, articles, curated reading + learning lists), email newsletter and marketing, and ad campaigns promoting our long-form content (guides, case studies, research reports).

But you know what? I credit my mentors and teachers for my success.

The first course I ever took was a Direct-Response Copywriting course with the AWAI. It was one of the best career-related decisions I ever made and I would recommend it to every marketing writer.

Since then, I consistently keep learning: Content Marketing with Hubspot and The CMI, Advertising with Shlomo Genchin, AI Copywriting Secrets with John McIntyre, B2B Content with Ed Gandia, Whitepaper and Case Study Writing with Gordon Graham, to name just a few.

I read Eddy Shleyner’s Very Good Copy over and over again, learned Ann Handley’s Everybody Writes and Joe Sugerman’s Copywriting Handbook by heart. You can find a whole list of people whose books I’ve read or content I follow in my blog (I should update that 🤔).

I’d love to add you to my story and the list of successful content projects. Drop me a line below.
